dataEssence Solo is a high-performance software product which delivers the key elements that an independent formulator or indeed a small division of a large company will need.

Whether you are working with flavours, fragrances or essential oils, dataEssence SOLO provides an integrated suite of tools to address the needs of the formulator to develop and maintain your formulations, to create GHS Safety Data Sheets (SDS) Labels and transport documentation, including support for the IFRA 49th amendment.

Formulations

• At the core of dataEssence is the powerful, feature rich, high security, formula development system. dataEssence SOLO provides an efficient method of building and recording finished product formulations and interim mixes.


• Specially designed to consider transformation processes like Yields, Shrinkages, Losses and Gains.


• dataEssence will provide the total cost per Kg whatever the total of the items and a global re-costing option is available to update the formulation costs in line with the current raw material costs.


• It enables you to keep thousands of formulas in a compact, easy to search system, with lots of user-friendly tools to help manage your raw materials, ingredients lists, product price fluctuations and complex formulations.


• It provides full, on screen capabilities for building and costing formulations as well as identifying where materials are used.


• Multi-level formulations can be quickly and accurately manipulated – you create and let dataEssence do the rest – it’ll even track the formulation history for you and rationalise and consolidate your formulation in seconds!


• A Virtual formulation can be built to handle the regulatory issues with “process formulations” and spray drying.


• Where a formulation is used as a base or a solution, it can be flagged within dataEssence and will remain intact.


• Automated calculation of status for formulations, e.g. “is it organic?”.


• You can also define many different formulation screening scenarios - great for checking out those client requirements or preferences that are outside of the normal regulatory issues.


• This module can also provide a range of key printouts covering the formulation, product specification sheets and H&S documentation.


• Ability to store Windows documents against each stock code.

Regulatory Compliance

• A key feature within the dataEssence Formulations & Regulatory R & D Module is the calculation of regulatory information based on the data entered against the stock records. Based on the information entered, the system will accurately calculate the risks and hazards associated with the formulation. The automated regulatory and status calculations and documentation will be especially appreciated by those who currently produce these manually.


• The calculations are constantly being extended but currently cover GHS and CLP, REACH, IFRA, FEMA, Food Regulations, Status (e.g. organic, kosher, halal and natural) and Free From.


• You can edit the NCS Hazardous Substances list, to add or remove GHS or CLP classifications. For example, when you are notified of a regulatory change to a material you can edit the regulatory data for that raw material.

Safety Data Sheet (SDS) & Hazard Labels

• dataEssence SOLO allows users to easily print a Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for any formulation. The information produced on this document is primarily regulatory. Please click here to view an example SDS document from dataEssence.


• An important part of chemicals management is the clear provision of information about any dangerous properties a chemical may have. dataEssence SOLO will allow a user to print a GHS Label and a CLP Label for a Formulation. Please click here to view an example Label from dataEssence


• Within the Safety Data Sheets, dataEssence will also produce the IFRA Conformity Certificate, Allergen Analysis and Ingredient Declaration for labels.


• dataEssence can interface with the Microsoft Translator API which gives it multi-language capability* (when upgraded SOLO Plus version) so you can also fully translate your SDS & Labels into over 50 languages, which is of great benefit if you are trading internationally.

Stock & Raw Materials Library

To help with Data Management, this Module will enable you to manage the stock information required for use with raw materials and in your formulations. Simply enter the relevant details for the raw materials and dataEssence will calculate the results for your formulations.

Backup Manager

A powerful yet uncomplicated backup & restore system giving single click full backups  and restores of the dataEssence database. An essential addition to the system, so you can be confident that your precious data is safely backed up in the event of a problem.
